The journey to exile by former Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, which started evening of March 9, 2020, hours after his detronement by Kano State Government was announced, has finally ended in a new destination in Awe town, Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The DEFENDER reports that the deposed monarch was billed for Loko, Nasarawa State to where he was banished by the Abdullahi Ganduje-led state government.

His arrival at first location around 3 a.m. on Tuesday March 10 was confirmed by Emir of Loko, who said he had arrived and was in his palace but reportedly said no media interview would be allowed with him.

According to a report by Royal News, the ex-Emir of Kano, against the earlier arrangement, was moved to a new location in Awe where he is now expected to stay for a new life.

It was not clear as at press time what led to the change of location from Loko to Awe, as calls by The DEFENDER to Emir of Awe, Jagaban Awe, special Assistant to the deposed Emir of Kano and others in the surrounding of the issue were neither picked nor returned.

It would be recalled that the former monarch was taken to Loko town on Monday hours after his dethronement.

The relocation was carried out in an helicopter amid tight security.

There had been no official word on why he was relocated.
