* As new Army Spokesman outlines agenda

Former Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Sagir Musa, on Wednesday, formally handed over to his successor, Brigadier-General Muhammed Yerima, in a brief ceremony at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.

The handover event witnessed the signing of handing and taking over notes and presentation of the Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR) flag to the new Director and his subsequent decoration with Directorates insignia.

Brigadier-General Musa, who has been redeployed to NATRAC, in his valedictory speech, congratulated Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima on his new appointment and wished him a successful tour of duty.

Speaking during the ceremony, the new Army spokesman, General Yerima, thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, for finding him worthy to be appointed the Army spokesman. He noted that the period of Information Communication Technology (ICT) has made it easier for the speedy dissemination of information to the general public.

General Yerima pledged to evolve measures and potent ways that would improve and strengthen the already existing relationship between the Nigerian Army and the media with a view to consolidating on the gains in the ongoing war against insurgency and terrorism in the country.
