“No Mr Military defender (Gift Onyinye).  In Maiduguri we don’t ask the military officers and men what went on or about to happen, most of them are fillip ant, have loose mouth, they talk carelessly thinking security bouseterity is a thing of pride not secrecy again.. Chinese proverb says: Don’t build the wall and forget to build the people,” one of the respondents to Zara’s gave possible mean media got military secrecy.

As follow out to the Military revelation of why it moved on the Maiduguiri and Abuja officers of the Daily Trust Newspaper, which bothered on what it described as the media organization wanting to publish its next plans against the Boko Haram insurgents, fiery social media fighter and an amazon of Buharism, Zara Gift Onyinye, has recommended death sentence by hanging for editors found guilty of doing so.

Onyinye’s latest also came days after The DEFENDER publications had been awash with calls for media blackout against the Boko Haram agents if media practitioners are truly sincere about their demand of end to the insurgents devilish activities in Nigeria.

The DEFENDER hate reported on Monday 7 January 2019 Director of Defence Information (DDI), Brigadier General John Agim’s explaination of why the military invaded and shut down the operations of DailyTrust offices in Abuja and Maiduguri in Borno State.

According to him, the invasion was not to stop the press from doing their job but because the medium made a publication that revealed the plans of the military in fighting insurgency, which, it said, showed that the Daily Trust has sympathy for the Boko Haram insurgents.

“I think it is completely unacceptable for any media house to have information about the military plan on the fight against insurgency and publish such plans,” he said in a phone interview with Channels Television on Sunday evening.

“Boko Haram terrorists will be informed ahead of time and that also shows that they (DailyTrust) are sympathetic to the insurgents and the intention was just to invite them and let them understand the dangers their action puts on the military.

“So, the intention is not to stop the press from doing their job. They need to understand that without peace and security in the land, they cannot perform their job. So for everybody who has information, there’s a need to check with the security agencies before they publish such because releasing such information ahead of time can jeopardize the operation”.

The soldiers have, however, vacated the Abuja office of the news organisation.

According to Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, the development followed an order given by the President.

On her Facebook on Tuesday, Zara Gift Onyinye posted that: “Editors releasing sensitive military strategies should be hanged or shot and their flesh fed to animals.  They are traitors.”

Chinese proverb says: Don’t build the wall and forget to build the people,” one of the respondents to Zara’s gave possible mean media got military secrecy.

A respondent outside the Facebook discourse reacted to Danjuma C. Mohammed: “This guy is very correct.  The military needs to actually build his officers and personnel to knowing how to be discreet about how they handle their information no matter how pressured they are from the media under the Freedom of Information Act.  The media practitioners however should be patriotic enough to know what information should go out and which should not at a time like this when devilish agents like Boko Haram are costing us so much in terms of lives, money and even peace in the country.  I will therefore agree with Zara Gift Onyinye’s recommendation.”
