Dogara reveals monthly salary, fails to publish House budget
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Tuesday, revealed his monthly pay slip for six months.
The slips were released by Dogara’s spokesman, Turaki Hassan. The pay roll shows that the speaker earned N346,577 thousand for October 2016 to January 2017. He received N206,577 in February 2017 and N276,577 for March 2017.
El-Rufai had on Monday made public some aspects of his state’s security votes, local government funds and his pay slip, following a challenge last Friday by Dogara. He also challenged the National Assembly to do same.
But speaking at a press briefing Tuesday, House spokesman, Abdulrazak Namdas (APC, Adamawa) said el-Rufai only published the state’s security budget and not his personal security votes against the challenge by the speaker for all state governors to make their budgets public.
Dogara however did not cover all the areas of challenge by el-Rufai which bothers on the need for him to make public his House budget.
