Against the public pronouncements by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he had anointed no candidate for All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government primary elections slated for Saturday 29 May, 2021, his loyalists, popularly called Tinubu Boys openly did what has been described as disgraceful exercise across Lagos State on Saturday the election day.

One of the thugs brought in by Obasa Boys at
Ward C Agege, who caused violent distruption of election with gunshots and destroyed the gate of Olusanya school venue of the exercise.  People were matcheted and wounded.

In Agege Local Government Chairmanship/Councillorship Primary, particularly Ward B and across the Wards, there were no elections.

Kolawole Egunjobi, the just relieved Chairman and Chairmanship Aspirant seeking re-election and his former Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) in Agege Local Government, Gbenga Abiola, supported by the LG Party Chairman and Ward B Party Chairman were seen openly manipulating the simple primary that is not yet main elections.

“Ostensibly orchestrated by Mudashir Obasa to ensure that his imposed candidates win at all cost even if they have no commiserating votes, Egunjobi and Abiola disrupted the election process after they had taken advantage of the two electoral officers posted to the Oniwaya High School, Agege venue of the primary election, and overpowered them being women.

Thugs in action at other ward in Agege during the APC primary elections.

“Despite that they made sure that only unaccredited candidates they pushed in to vote for their Councillorship candidate Garuba in Ward B while blocking others they suspected would not vote for him, the votes of Hon. Muizdeen Olawale IGBIN still comfortably stood higher than theirs.

“They then did ballot boxes snatching, destroyed the authentic ballot papers in both two boxes representing the only two aspirants contesting in the Ward B area, replaced the destroyed ballot papers with their fake ones and went On to ACME Road State Secretariat to press for their list of candidates as winners of election they did not allow to take place, in the Ward as well as across the Agege Local Government Area,” Chairmanship/Councillorship Osolana/IGBIN Aspirants Agent, simply called Sadik, told The DEFENDER.

In Agege there was report of Obasa group inviting mobile policemen who allegedly looked the other way while the thugs had their free day doing their violence against lawful party members present to vote for party candidates if their choice.

In Agege, we learned Saturday night that all aggrieved candidates would file petitions to press for cancellation of the Saturday’s APC LG primaries in Agege Local Government Area on the ground that the whole electoral process was married by violence.

In Surulere that is the Constituency of Speaker if the House if Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, disenfranchised APC members were embittered that they as eligible voters were not allowed to enter the voting venue but that only Gbajabiamila’s arranged candidates were allowed to enter to vote.

“When we talked they said they don’t know our candidates. How would you know them when, since after you won election you had relocated from Surulere to now live in Park View and Ikoyi and some of you staying out in Abuja without coming home, how will you know us?”An embittered APC woman leader said.

In addition, the social media have been inaundated by videos of shamble primary elections that APC “held” across Lagos Saturday, which made many conclude that there was no primary.
