Delta Police Command arrests 3 suspected cultists, armed robbers, recovers gun, others

The Delta State Command of Nigerian Police Force, in continue of giant stride of its Commission of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, has again arrested three suspected, who are cultists and at same time armed robbers.

A statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, explained the operation leading to arrest of the suspected criminals.

“On 05/08/2022 at about 1345HRS,  Police operatives attached to Quick response squad (QRS) during a stop and search duty along Pessu corner in Warri, intercepted a tricycle with three occupants and upon search of the occupants, one locally made cut-to-size gun and four live Cartridges were recovered from them.

“The three suspects namely; Chukwuma Owoh ‘m’ aged 26years, Ediri Ogendengbe ‘m’ aged 32yrs, and Alfred Kess ‘m’ age 38yrs were immediately arrested by the Policemen.

“One of the Suspects, Chukwuma Owoh confessed that he bought the gun from one Haruna of hausa market Warri, and that he was on his way to Pessu in search of some Aiye confraternity cult members that attacked his younger sister,” he said.

According to DSP Edafe, the suspects are currently in custody and investigation is ongoing.

In the meantime, CP Ali, while urging officers and men of the Command to sustain the tempo, also admonished them to be polite and civil to members of the public while on duty as incivility to members of the public will not be tolerated under his watch.
