Court judgment Friday will favour PDP, shame APC, Dino Melaye insists on ChannelsTV Thursday

By OUR REPORTER

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, on Thursday, came under heavy attacks as he was slammed for repeatedly blaming the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the tragedy that has struck his former Africa’s biggest party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Senator Melaye was speaking when he appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today, anchored by Seun Okinbaloye

He continued the blame game, despite being reminded by the program anchor that PDP’s internal affair was topic of discussion.

Asked how his party, PDP’s forthcoming National Convention will hold, with the court case against it by Prince Uche Secondus, the chairman, Melaye said “APC will be put to shame because our convention will hold”.

Again told that not APC but Chairman of his party, Uche Secondus, that took the party to courtt, he still went ahead saying “APC is behind those causing problem in our party.”

On what will happen if Secondus’ case against PDP’s convention succeeds, the former senator boastfully said that “as a graduate of law” he will be the one to announce to APC on Friday that it is a failure.

Dino Melaye, who described the governing APC as an opposition party, said “APC is an NGO and a disaster that will soon blow, and my party will beat APC in 2023.”

“Please, look at our today’s topic “PDP INTERNAL AFFAIRS”, we are not here for APC,” Melaye was told but he went ahead to say the topic was designed by Channels and not PDP and so that, “There’s no logically sound person in APC.”

He had earlier in the interview said that, “PDP is not in a dilemma. My party is solid. There is no fear, no agitation. The agitation is rather from the APC, who are part of those orchestrating what we are saying,” he said.

The PDP’s convention, scheduled to hold this weekend, is hanging in the balance due to court battles between erstwhile PDP Chairman, Uche Secondus and the party framework.

The Court of Appeal is set to give a verdict on Friday, as to whether or not the convention will hold as planned.

But Senator Melaye insisted that the verdict will go the way of the PDP and that the convention will hold as scheduled.
