COUNTDOWN TO CILRMN/The DEFENDER April 28: Nigeria’s IGP Idris confirms he will attend Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja Lecture/Award event

According to the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer, Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria (CILRMN), one of the organizing partners, Dr. Uzombah Innocent (FCILM), “We have decided to plan big for these great Nigerians to appreciate our doing-well people right in their lifetime.  We observe that Nigerians have all along appreciated their great minds only after they have passed on.  CILRMN and The DEFENDER are changing the narratives.  There are many other great Nigerians but our event for the celebration of them is continuous,” Uzombah said.

The Inspector-General of the Nigerian Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Kpokun Idris, has confirmed that he will grace the forthcoming maiden edition of Lecture/Award of Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria (CILRMN) organised in collaboration with The DEFENDER Online Media slated to hold at the Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja on Saturday April 28, 2018.

The event themed, “National Integration and Economic Development of Nigeria: The Online Media and Risk Management Approach”, will be chaired by Proprietor of Crescent University Abeokuta (CUAB) and former Attorney-General of the Federation, Prince Bola Ajibola (SAN).

Sultan of Sokoto and Sarikin Mu’mineen of Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, apart from being recipient of award of Patron/Fellow of the Institute, will deliver the keynote address at the event, where Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Social Media, Ms Loretta Onochie, and a Faculty Member of the Institute, Dr. Mustapha Muktar will present papers on “Online Media Approach” and “Risk Management Approach”, respectively, “To National Integration and Economic Development of Nigeria”.

Wife of the President of the Federal Republic, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Minister of Communications and General Officer Commanding (GOC), Third Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, Jos, Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (Rtd) and immediate past Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, will along with the Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris be decorated at the occasion as honourary Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria to earn them the honour of affix “FCILRM” to the name of the honourees.

Talking about the Institute, the CILRMN boss said, “The Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria (CLRMN) was established primarily to fill the void in the specialist professional disciplines of loan and risk management practice, thereby complementing the noteworthy contributions of individual, academia and other professional bodies. The evolving highly competitive global economic scenario, with its demand for top flight efficiency and effectiveness have made it essential for specialist professional focus on loan and risk management as in the case already in the more advanced countries and a number of emerging economies of the world.”

Speaking further he said, “The DEFENDER is an online media that has moved straight into the global scene delivering knowledge-driven, non-sensational journalism in Nigeria with a clear vision of defending the truth and national integrity.  It aims to be the most respected online media in Nigeria and beyond,” he said.

Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria has its Council constituted by Chief Sir O.A. Bailey (FCILRM), President/Chairman, Prof. Onatolu Odukoya (FCILRM), Alhaji Abubakar A. Faggo (FCILRM), Prof. Julius Okojie (FCILRM), Alhaji Abubakar Hassan (FCILRM), Dr. Mrs Abdulai Ovuodo (FCILRM), Prof. Ifeyori I. ihimodu (FCILRM), Dr. Kayode Oladimeji (FCILRM), Ambassador Danforth O. Edobor (FCILRM) and Dr. Uzombah n. Innocent (FCILRM).

On the advisory board of The DEFENDER since its establishment in 2002 are Retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Alhaji Mu’azu Idris Hadeija (Chairman), Chief Kola Animasaun, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad, Alhaji Babatunde Jose (Late).

In the meantime, the indications that Vice Chancellor of Nigeria’s Citadel of Moral and Academic Excellence, Crescent University Abeokuta (CUAB), Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, will be physically present at the event have emerged.  The Crescent University’s Registrar and Secretary of Governing Council, Barrister Ademola Ajibola, has also indicated that he will attend.  Others who have communicated their promises to attend the Abuja event include the immediate past Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali, Publisher, Northeast Star Magazine, Dr. Sani Abubakar, and the Editor-in-Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Malam Zango Yusuf.

In a telephone conversation with The DEFENDER, Prince Bola Ajibola (SAN), Chairman of the event has congratulated Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria (CILRMN) and The DEFENDER on their first of such event to come from their partnership and considering the quality of worthy eminent Nigerians they have been able to identify for appreciation and honour.

The former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Ajibola, said “We are on course for your day”.
