Close your shops, markets for prayers, Iralepo tells subjects in Isinkan

By KEMI KASUMU

The Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula, Arulewolasi III, has directed that all shops and markets in Isinkan kingdom should be closed on Wednesday 11th September, 2024 for special prayers.

The monarch, who said the decision has no connection with the Akure’s Amole festival, clarified that it is to ensure security in the state capital and offer prayers in Isinkan kingdom.

In a statement, personally signed by him, Oba Olofin-Adimula said, “All shop owners and market women should please bear this singular inconvenience with us. They are to also converge at the Oba’s palace at Ita-Owa in Isinkan at 8am for the special prayers.

“The Iyalojas in the various markets and other market leaders in the town are to inform and educate their rank and file on this spiritual exercise.

“I want to put it on record that the closure of Markets in Isinkan as directed by me has nothing to do with Akure’s Amole festival. Our culture and traditions are not the same, so their festival couldn’t affect us in any way.”

“But this is a time to pray for peace and tranquility in the state and particularly, the state capital to avoid any breakdown of law and order as the governorship election in Ondo State approaches.”

“As law abiding people, we have followed laid down due process and duly inform all stakeholders including the state Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa about this decision.” Oba Iralepo said

The royal father enjoined the people of Isinkan kingdom to continue to be law abiding and take the special prayers seriously.
