CIA Director William Burns was in Kiev on Tuesday to meet with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his Ukrainian intelligence counterparts, the Washington Post reported, citing an official.

According to the newspaper, the CIA chief told Ukrainian officials about his meeting in Ankara with Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshkin and that Washington had warned Moscow against using nuclear weapons.

“[Burns] reinforced the US commitment to provide support to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression,” WaPo quoted the official as saying.
