“CHRISTIAN GENOCIDE”: China reportedly warns America to “stop interfering in Nigeria’s internal affairs”

“China firmly opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, and threatening other countries with sanctions and force,” the statement said.

The People’s Republic of China has warned United State against interference in the federal republic of Nigeria’s internal affairs, following US President Donald Trump’s threat to take military action against Abuja over alleged persecution of Christians.

Chinese foreign affairs ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning in a press conference in Baijing said Nigeria is strategic partner and it firmly support the country’s sovereignty in leading its people on the development path suited to its national conditions.

According to Mao, China opposes any country’s decision for using religion, human rights as pathway to interfere in other country’s internal affairs.

The statement reads “It’s reported that U.S. President Donald Trump said he named Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” because Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said that the allegations do not reflect the true situation in Nigeria. Trump said the U.S. will immediately cut off all assistance to Nigeria if the Nigerian government continues to allow the killing of Christians and will very likely launch military operations.

“As Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly supports the Nigerian government in leading its people on the development path suited to its national conditions.

“China firmly opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, and threatening other countries with sanctions and force,” the statement said.
