China, Russia to develop major strategic projects in energy — Chinese Ambassador

“The parties will continue following the spirit of equality and mutual benefit, jointly work on proficient implementation of major strategic projects that would play the leading role in the ongoing deepening of comprehensive cooperation for exploration and production of traditional energy resources, their processing and sale of ready produce for purposes of achieving mutual complementing of advantages of both countries,” the Ambassador said.

Russia and China have become “important strategic partners in the oil and gas sector” for each other in recent years, the Chinese diplomat said.

“Energy cooperation, particularly oil and gas one, has always been and remains the most significant, fruitful and vast area of businesslike cooperation between Russia and China,” Zhang Hanhui noted.

“Russia has already become one of the key suppliers of oil and gas to China, and China in its turn is an important market for sale of Russian oil and gas. The energy sector of China is notable for the vast potential and growing demand,” he added.
