TheIdoma people of Benue State burst into jubilation on Tuesday as FederalGovernment flagged off construction and dualisation project on Otukpo-EnuguRoad.

The flag off was done by Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).

By political implication, some observers noted the new project will connect the Idoma community of Senator David Mark and Enugu community of Senator Ike Ekweremadu whose party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was in power for 16 years without any thought of working on the road.

The DEFENDER reports that Senate Mark (Benue) was Senate President for eight years with Senator Ike Ekweremadu (Enugu) under PDP government was Deputy Senate President for eight years during which period Benue and Enugu communities along the road stretch cried of dangers posed by the bad condition of the Otukpo-Enugu road without their cries attended to.

“What makes me feel insulted sometimes when I listen to these people including Mark and Ekweremadu campaigning to remove President Buhari from office is that, they knew they wickedly mismanaged our lives and still want to return us to that dangerous period. No way!” One of the respondents, who spoke from Makurdi said.
