Buhari’s govt, committed to even distribution of dividends of democracy- Senator Wamakko

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has assured that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is committed to even distribution of dividends of democracy across the country.

He gave the assuranceon Saturday at the closing ceremony of the maiden edition of inter-Secondary Schools Science Competition organized by the NTA Sokoto Network Centre and which he sponsored.

“I am assuring that no part of the country would be neglected in the quest to ensure  even provision of dividends of democracy to Nigerians,” he reiterated.

Wamakko said the National Assembly was fully committed to working together with the presidency and other arms of government to make Nigeria better.

“Our relationship would continue to be that of mutual respect for each other and the end result is to make the nation better than we met it through a logical implementation of policies and progarmmes aimed at further improving the living standard of Nigerians,” he added

He however called on Nigerians to continue pray for peace, unity and progress of this country.

Wamakko who is  Chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education,described the responsibility of funding education at all levels as a collective one.

The  former Governor of Sokoto state also commended the giant stride of his successor Governor Aminu Tambuwal in the education sector.

He noted the quiz competition as ‘very crucial’ for the youths as  the future leaders of the country.

Zonal Director of NTA in Sokoto, Alhaji Bala Gusau, stated that the competition was aimed at facilitating effective teaching and learning in the state.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government College, Sokoto emerged winner of the competition while Sultan Maccido Institute of Qur’an and General Studies, Sokoto and Nagarta College, Sokoto, clinched  2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
