Buhari transits through London as promised by Presidency
In the meantime, the President’s SAMP, Mr. Femi Adesina, said his principal’s appearance at the UN General Assembly was “worth the while” as it was beneficial to Nigeria. Adesina noted that President Buhari held bilateral discussions with the various leaders on different areas of cooperation.
It is not news that President Muhammadu Buhari’s return from New York, United States of America, where he had gone to be part of active participation at the just concluded 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly would be through London, United Kingdom. What however is yet another news item from the whole scenario is that whatever the presidency of the current government of Nigeria has said or planned to do, it will do.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity (SAMP), Mr. Femi Adesina, had last week Friday said, in a statement announcing the President’s trip to New York, that he would transit through London on his way back to Nigeria.
Mr. Adesina did not state what purpose the transiting through London would mean to serve but some of The DEFENDER’s respondents who spoke on that last paragraph of the release saw it from positive angle, considering the fact that a President that had just been “miraculously healed” from a sickness he confirmed he never had before required to keep to medical schedules.
One of the respondents said, “Any foreign trip President Buhari embarks upon is for the good of Nigeria even if it is on medical ground.”
Another respondent from the very moment of the press release had however opined that, “Mr. Femi Adesina may have created opportunity for wailing journalists to work upon,” adding that there is no need to leave the core of President Buhari’s laudable itinerary in USA as detailed in the Adesina’s statement only for people to pick the smallest of all the paragraphs and used it as core of their reports.
On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari left the Millennium Tower Hotel in New York at about 8:00am on Thursday and headed for JFK International Airport for the London trip.

A yet to be confirmed report however said Mr. President will return to Nigeria from London, four days after.
