Buhari shouldn’t mind those who want Magu removed, leave him there and let them do their worst – Sheikh Muhydeen Bello
*Says those frustrating Buhari’s effort won’t end well
*Magu will be EFCC chairman as long as Buhari and I remain in office – Osinbajo
“When those corrupt people were running the country down by their loots, nobody talked. Now that Buhari’s hands have got hold of them and he is beginning to deal with them according to the laws of the land, see how Nigerians are crying dictators and all that. What kind of country people are we in Nigeria?” He asked with dismay.
Fearless Islamic preacher and Kano State Missioner of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, who currently is Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, not to mind Senate President Bukola Saraki and his Senate followers who persistently insist on removal of Ibrahim Magu as boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and dropping of corruption charges against them as conditions for cooperating with the government in moving Nigeria forward.
He said Buhari, who understandably is having challenges because he, a strong military top brass, found himself operating under “unfortunate” democratic dispensation, should go ahead and deal a big blow against enemies of Nigerian masses trying hard to block him, saying it was only in doing so that he would be able to succeed.
The cleric, speaking in his new preaching album, titled, “Asiko Esan” (meaning Time for Payback), said “those who are working against the chances of this country to move forward will never end well,” he prayed.
In the preaching release, Sheikh Bello also cautioned the Customs officials against allowing corruption as, according to him, evil machinations have their chances into the country because those in charge of the borders took bribes and then allowed them thereby exposing Nigerian people and even government to dangers of insecurity.
The Sheikh, who favoured President Buhari’s medical treatment to enable him get well and deal decisively against the corruption fight in the country, slammed some of Nigerian masses and the elites for their lack of cooperation with Buhari in his selfless effort to truly kill corruption before corruption kills Nigeria and Nigerians.
He spoke in Yoruba that, “When houseflies were hurting a person with injury nobody complained but when the person being hurt by the houseflies begins to kill and chase the houseflies many of the people around mischievously complain,” he spoke in parable, which he interpreted as, “When those corrupt people were running the country down by their loots, nobody talked. Now that Buhari’s hands have got hold of them and he is beginning to deal with them according to the laws of the land, see how Nigerians are crying dictatorship and all that. What kind of country people are we in Nigeria?” He asked with dismay.
Sheikh Muhydeen Bello however warned people with dual citizenship to stop destroying the country saying, “You are looting, causing trouble and destroying this country because you have a place to run to being that you are also citizens of another country. Those of us who have no other place to run to but Nigeria, leave Nigeria safe for us”, except, he said, Allah would soon visit them with heavy punishment that they would never have a helper against.
In the meantime, Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has said that as long as he remains the Acting President and President Muhammadu Buhari’s mandate as president subsists, Ibrahim Magu will continue in office as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
He made the declaration in Kaduna at the commissioning of the Zonal office of the EFCC.
According to Professor Osinbajo, “he will remain the EFCC chairman as long as I remain the Acting President and as well as Muhammadu Buhari remains the President”.
