Buhari names Campaign Organisation retains Amaechi as DG

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the appointment of a campaign organization for his re-election in 2019.
For obvious reasons that the number one man was satisfied with the successes of 2015 campaigns, he also approved the appointment of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who led the campaigns now as Secretary/Director General of the new organisation.
A statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, disclosed this new development on Thursday, in Abuja.
According to the statement, “Hon. Amaechi was the Director General of the Buhari-Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Committee in 2014-2015 that won the elections and brought the current administration into office.
“The new Director General will announce other appointments into the campaign structure as approved by President Buhari.”
Amaechi is currently the Nigeria’s Minister of Transport overseeing railways, waterways and aviation.
Reacting to the appointment of Amaechi as DG of the presidential campaign, a respondent, Wale Ogunyemi, told The DEFENDER that “If Amaechi could do that greatly well under a harsh government of PDP where opposition members were killed, deprived and implicated at will, he will be distinctively great leading the President’s campaign now under an administration that has rule of law as its watchword.”
