Buhari greets Bola Kuforiji-Olubi at 80
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Abuja felicitated with Dr. Bola Kuforiji-Olubi, on her 80th birthday.
The President, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, described the Otunba Ayora as a distinguished businesswoman, banker, economist and accountant.
He recalled Kuforiji-Olubi, a Nigerian former minister’s decades of distinguished career in the private and public sectors of national life and noted that her contributions would remain inspiring to the younger generation.
Femi Adesina stated the President’s mind in the statement that, “It is not surprising that she is a proud and well-deserved recipient of the National honour, fellowships, awards and honorary degrees from within and outside the country.”
Mr. President particularly expressed delight that Kuforiji-Olubi had remained “a pace-setter and leader in banking, manufacturing and entrepreneurship not only in Nigeria but also in Sub-Saharan Africa.’’
President Buhari, noting that God had been kind to the former minister of commer prayed for continued health and longer life for the octogenarian, author and philanthropist to “enable the nation and humanity benefit from her wisdom and wealth of experience”.
Otunba Bola Kuforiji-Olubi, a former minister of commerce, was also the first female chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA).
