BREAKING: Veteran comic actor, Baba Suwe, is dead
Nigerian comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, fondly referred to as Baba Suwe, is dead.
The Nollywood actor was reported dead, Monday morning, a few weeks after he celebrated his birthday.
President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan also known as Mr Latin confirmed his death to the press, on Monday.
“I just got off the phone with his son who confirmed that the actor is dead. I don’t have much details about his death.”
He had battled ill health in the last few years following his release from detention by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency due to suspicion of being a drug courier.
Omidina was a pioneer in the Nollywood, the Nigerian movie industry and was a well loved and regarded comedian who left his mark in the industry.
He lost his wife, Mosurat Omidina, popularly known as Moladun Kenkelewu a few years ago.
