BREAKING: Sultan of Sokoto declares Sunday March 30 as Eid-ul-Fitr day

It is now official that Sultan of Sokoto and Leader of the Muslim Ummah of Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared today Saturday March 29, 2025 as end of Ramadan 1446 AH.
To this end, the President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) said tomorrow Sunday March 30, 2025 which is equivalent to Shawwal 1, 1446 AH is day for the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
The Sultan said the decision followed report of the National Moon Sighting Committees across the country, confirming sighting of the new moon of Shawwal in several places across the country.
The Sultan, therefore, felicitated with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah, and wished them Allah’s guidance and blessings.
He also urged Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for peace, progress and development of the country as he also wished all Muslims well during and after the celebration.
He also enjoined Muslims to continue to pray for leaders at all levels.
