Breaking: Imo Deputy Governor, Madumere, impeached

The Imo state Deputy governor, Eze Madumere, has been impeached.

The motion for the impeachment of the deputy governor, was said to have been moved by the member representing Owerri Municipal, Lugard Osuji and was seconded by the member representing Owerri west local government area, Mr Victor Ikonne.

At the time of filling this report, Journalists were barred from going into the chamber just as security men numbering over 100 with their patrol van were stationed in and around the premises of the Assembly complex.

Also, the adjoining streets were also blocked by the police vehicles.

At the time of filling this report, a source told Vanguard that the members were still signing the impeachment motion.
