Atiku replaces restructuring with ‘mythical 3-square meal’ a day; Buhari talks about ‘mirage’ 24 hours electricity – Senator Shehu Sani
A respondent told The DEFENDER that, “While I will want to agree in part with Senator Shehu Sani, I will not totally agree with him for comparing Buhari’s view of restructuring with that of Atiku. If you look at Atiku’s promise of restructuring, you will find out that he started it from while in APC and his role had never been to suggest anything positive to the government he claimed he helped emerge. Bukola Saraki is one of the damages Atiku did to APC government and Nigeria.”
Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the National Assembly, in his assessment so far of new campaign promises of two leading presidential candidates in the country, says they have now realized the word ‘restructuring’ is ‘too grammatical’ for the masses to understand and have therefore simplified it.
The senator, who is now a People’s Redemption Party (PRP) member, described as mythical promise by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to give three square meals a day to 170 million Nigerians.
He also described what he called promise by All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari to give 24 hours electricity supply as mirage.
The civil rights activist took to twitter to say that after Atiku and Buhari realized that the word restructuring is ‘too grammatical’ for voters to understand, both decided to simplify their message to reflect the basic human needs.
The 51-years old senator tweet reads: “The major candidates realized that the word restructuring is ‘too grammatical’ for voters to decipher or fathom, so they simplified their message; one candidate is promising mythical three square meals for 170 million; and the other candidate is promising 24 hrs mirage electricity.”
Where Buhari, Atiku differ
It would be recall that President Muhammadu Buhari prior to the 2015 general election did allegedly promise to address the issue of restructuring likewise Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who has been preaching the gospel of restructuring for the past two years.
The Buhari’s view of restructuring, however, is said to be far different from that of Atiku.
While Atiku’s type of restructuring is bought largely by elements jostling for the break of Nigeria particularly those clamouring for Biafra Republic and Oodua Republic working hand-in-hand with some Middle-Belt elements, Buhari’s type of restructuring is premised on good governance and fair distribution of projects and resources.
Many Nigerians, who are digesting the respective messages of the two leading candidates, are doing comparison based on antecedents of each of their past administrations.
A respondent told The DEFENDER that, “While I will want to agree in part with Senator Shehu Sani, I will not totally agree with him for comparing Buhari’s view of restructuring with that of Atiku.
“If you look at Atiku’s promise of restructuring, you will find out that he started it from while in APC and his role had never been to suggest anything positive to the government he claimed he helped emerge. Bukola Saraki is one of the damages Atiku did to APC government and Nigeria.
“He also operated as critic in APC ruling party that he belonged to therefore, restructuring became the best excuse with which he moved out of the ruling party and we all watched him. People who are with him are agents of destruction who had played roles in how we got to recession bombing our oil installations and others demanding breakaways of regions from the United Nigeria,” he said.
He added that Buhari has never wavered in his views of restructuring. He believes that Nigeria is already well structured but that with good governance and justice to all, every part of the united country will feel the dividends of better Nigeria.
