Atiku hasn’t traveled to US – Media Aide

Ibe, according to Daily Trust, said via a telephone conversation Thursday afternoon that online reports which stated that Atiku had travelled to the US were a figment of the imagination of the authors.

Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has not travelled to the United States of America (USA).

These were the words of his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Paul Ibe, in reaction to report by The BOSS confirming that the former vice president had landed in Washington ready to meeting with United States government officials and some Nigerians in the Diaspora living in the country.

Ibe, according to Daily Trust, said via a telephone conversation Thursday afternoon that online reports which stated that Atiku had travelled to the US were a figment of the imagination of the authors.

“You know what the social media can do. You know the social media for what they are now. It is not true. His Excellency hasn’t gone anywhere,” he said.

The clarification came following an online tweet from the Publisher of Ovation magazine, Mr. Dele Momodu, who shared the web link of the online report.

Claiming the sighting of a promotional material indicating that Atiku had been invited to speak in Washington by the US-Africa Chambers of Commerce on Friday and that the event will hold from 2-4pm, The Boss had reported there were strong indications that the PDP Presidential Candidate would land will land in Washington DC on Thursday.

The Boss added that he is also billed to attend other high profile meetings in and around the US capital.

The DEFENDER and other popular media had reported recently that PDP was taking campaign to the United States without Atiku following assurances that his running mate, Dr. Peter Obi, would represent him at the forum.
