APC Reschedules Ekiti Governorship Primary Election for Saturday May 12, 2018
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled the Ekiti governorship primary election for Saturday May 12, 2018.
This was announced in a two-paragraph statement Thursday night by National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, who said the election will kick off at 8.00 am prompt.
The new development is a shift from the earlier arrangement slating the re-run primary election for Friday.
But the APC spokesman said the shift from Friday to Saturday followed consultation between the APC National Working Committee (NWC), aspirants and other stakeholders.
In the meantime, one of the Aspirants for the rerun primary, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, on Thursday, announced his quit from the governorship race blaming the national working committee of the Party for his decision.
He said the national secretariat had failed to ensure transparency at ensuring a generally acceptable governorship candidate and that he would therefore no longer be interested in the race.
