Another major defection as Nasarawa Senator Onawo joins ADC along with APC leaders

By OUR REPORTER, Lafia

He, however, vowed, “Whether you media people adequately report the progress this opposition coalition party is making or not, this tsunami of defections you are seeing is real and how blacking out these mass majority of Nigerians will translate to ability of Tinubu’s use of Federal Might to overturn the decision they will make at the ballot come 2027 remains to be seen.”

As the African Democratic Congress (ADC) continues to receive defectors from all major parties in the country through defections, a major landslide achievement has been recorded with a Nasarawa State senator leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the recently adopted opposition coalition party.

The new decampee, Senator Mohammed Onawo who is bringing his number of supporters to the table underscoring that his joining the ADC is one with value addition, has given an unofficial statement about reasons he is leaving the PDP although they can only be made public by him in due time.

Representing Nasarawa South, Senator Onawo is with All Progressives Congress (PDP) chieftains including Senator Suleiman Asonya Adokwe and former Minister of Environment under Muhammadu Buhari Administration, Barrister Mohammed Hassan, all of who have already also joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa State.

Our impeccable sources in Keffi Monday morning said, “Yes, it is true. Senator Mohammed Onawo, who is a PDP senator, has joined the ADC. He met with some stakeholders who are also going joining the opposition coalition, yesterday, here in the state where he made his movement into out of PDP clear blaming it on the artificial crisis caused by some selfish leaders in the party using some small boys to perpetrate same.

“He said he will not speak to the press now on his defection until after he will personally visited all the traditional rulers in the entire Nasarawa State to personally inform them of the state of his politics.

“It is, however, not only from his PDP the ADC is receiving members in the state. There are members also from APC including Barrister Mohammed Hassan, former Buhari’s Minister of the Environment among others, who have left APC for ADC.,” he confirmed.

Another source was not comfortable with the Nigerian media community currently as he blamed them for selecting what news to carry since Tinubu came to power, citing how the media played down on massive defections hit Katsina State following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari recently as APC, PDP and NNPP collapsed into the ADC.

He, however, vowed, “Whether you media people adequately report the progress this opposition coalition party is making or not, this tsunami of defections you are seeing is real and how blacking out these mass majority of Nigerians will translate to ability of Tinubu’s use of Federal Might to overturn the decision they will make at the ballot come 2027 remains to be seen. Anyway, he knows, even if he has such idea in mind before, why he must not try it.”
