ANAMBRA: I can’t discuss my resettlement now, says Jibril, husband of pregnant woman killed with her four children by IPOB

By KEMI KASUMU

Malam Ahmed Jibril, husband of Harira, and father of the four children killed in Umujhe, Orunba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, South East Nigeria last Sunday May 22, 2022 by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) terrorists, spoke to The DEFENDER from his hometown in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Northern Nigeria, in the early hours of Friday.

Jibril, who gave his age as 45, said the issue of IPOB has gotten to a stage that in carrying out their evil activities, they put the inscription of “unknown gunmen” on themselves, as they go about doing their killings.

He said, although they also kill Igbo but that, the fact that they are supported by some of their people plays a role in why the evil things they do continue, thus corroborating a video watched by The DEFENDER where, amidst community people cheering and clapping hands, some of these IPOB terrorists fully masked walked confidently.

Asked what problem Hausa-Fulani people had with the host communities that they are being killed, Jibril, who spoke in pidgin, said:

“It was before that they used to kill Hausa but now, they kill anybody. In fact, even Igbo people. They killed a brother of the governor also.

“It is police they kill most. So, there is no security in Anambra now. The only place you can see police is Onitsha because they cut their necks wherever they see them (police),” he said.

The Adamawa State-born, who now sounds stable but still in serious pains from what befell his family, noted that his boss, an Igbo man, had really tried in funding some of the things he has done since the incident happened including his transportation to his hometown.

On relocation, he said he still could not say anything about his resettlement now but that he is amidst his people in his hometown in Adamawa.

He, however, called on the Federal Government to help innocent people of Anambra State just like of other parts of South East by providing security as, according to him, the killings that are being perpetrated there would not have been possible with security present.

It will be recalled that Jubril, who works as a security guard in Anambra State, said that his wife was nine months pregnant and the family was expecting a new baby within the week when they were killed.

He said, “They were coming back home after she visited her sister who was living in the nearby town. She and the four children were all wearing hijabs; that was why the gunmen targeted them.
