Alara extols Sultan’s virtues as Sokoto monarch clocks 15 on throne

By BASHIR ADEFAKA

Following the just concluded weeklong commemoration of 15th anniversary of Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar on the throne as Sultan of Sokoto, the Alara of Ilara Epe and Permanent Vice Chairman (Epe Division), Lagos State Traditional Rulers Council, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, says the Sariki Musulumi of Nigeria is worthy of celebration at all times.

Describing the Sultan as an exceptionally rare gem, he said he (Sultan) is amiable personality ‘unputdownable’.

Oba Ogunsanwo, who joined millions of friends and well-wishers nationwide and beyond in celebrating the multifaceted leader, said the Sultan’s 15 years on the Usmaniyyah throne of Sokoto Caliphate have been a period of much desired transformation for religious and traditional institutions across the Niger.

The Lagos monarch, who was Chairman Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue Service until he ascended the throne in August 2020, agreed that the many descriptions of Sultan as a quintessential and multifaceted leader of man could not be far from realistic truth, adding that “His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar is a wonderful traditional leader and very highly detribalized religious figure.”

The Sultan’s personal friend, Alara Ogunsanwo, said this in the congratulatory message he personally directed and sent, exclusively, to The DEFENDER on Sunday.

“On behalf of myself and kingdom, I wish to say that the Sultan is enigmatic and pragmatic person, whose contribution to peace, unity and development of Nigeria is indisputable.

“We appreciate the Sultan, who is Chairman, National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria (NTRCN) and Co-President of the World Council of Religions for Peace (CRP), on his 15th coronation anniversary this November 2021, precisely 2nd.

“May Allah bless the age of His Eminence as we wish him long life and prosperity.

“Wishing you many more prosperous years on the throne, Your Eminence!” Alara said.
