Al-Fattah Foundation distributes learning materials to students in Lagos school

The Al-Fattah Islamic Welfare Foundation (ALWELF) has assisted scores of students with by its distribution of various learning and writing materials to them in their selected school in Lagos.

This educational materials distribution took place during the organisation’s 4th Annual Educational Support Programme 2023, with thus year’s edition held at Ijaiye-Ojokoro Junior High School, Ijaiye Ojokoro Lagos, on Thursday 14th September.

The DEFENDER reports that the Islamic group distributed the educational materials in fair manner that saw all students of the school, regardless of their religions and tribal backgrounds, benefitting for their ease of learning.

Speaking at the event on behalf of all the AIWELF members and donors, the Amirah of the foundation and founding member, Mrs Funmilayo Marufah, said the foundation deemed it necessary as parts of its community and social responsibility to support education of young Nigerians and identify with them in their quest for academic excellence.

Marufah noted that the foundation, which was Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) incorporated since 2019, has mandated itself to assist Nigerian students with learning items and scholarships.

The foundation, according to her, is also known to assist the needy and less privileged people within its limited resources.

She further noted that among the prominent programmes of the foundation is the Annual Ramadan Lecture and feeding the fasting Muslims’ Programme.

The foundation, as explained further by other members of ALWELF present at Thursday event, chose a public school for this year programme in order to reach out to many Nigerian students who are in dire need of education support.

Those that spoke among members included Mr Oyedeji AbdulQadir Jaiyeola and Mr Bajela Ahmed Damilola.

This year programme was attended by the staff and management of the host school, members of the foundation as well as the officers of the State Ministry of Education from District 1, Agege, Lagos.

The foundation also appealed to well meaning Nigerians, corporate entities and individual donors to assist her with donations in order to do more in empowering Nigerians and uplifting the standard of living of the needy in our society.
