Ajibola, Crescent varsity’s proprietor, counsels freshers at 21st matriculation ceremony
*Expresses gratitude to Alumni Association for donating N5m to alma mater

Ajibola seized the occasion to acknowledge the institution’s Alumni Association for donating N5 million to support its alma matter and also pledging to support a building project going forward.
The Proprietor and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Crescent University,Abeokuta, Prince Ma’ruf Adesegun Ajibola SAN has urged the newly matriculated students of the institution to follow footsteps of their predecessors in contributing to the growth and development of their alma matter.

This was contained in a released by Senior Assistant Registrar (Pubic Affairs) of the institution, Mr. Idris Katib, sent to The DEFENDER on Saturday January 17, 2026.
He made this appeal in his speech during the 21st Matriculation of students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Ajibola seized the occasion to acknowledge the institution’s Alumni Association for donating N5 million to support its alma matter and also pledging to support a building project going forward.
While expressing appreciation to parents for believing in the vision of academic and moral excellence of Crescent University, he also admonished that they should see Crescent University as “our own project” rather than “their university” as this would bring a lot of good to the society.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, had unveiled the newly approved programmes of the institution by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
In his address, Gbajabiamila said the institution had commenced BSc programmes in Software Engineering and Cyber security, stressing that “all our degree programmes are fully accredited by the NUC and professional bodies”.
He enjoined freshers across all departments of the university to refrain from cultism, drug abuse, violence, examination malpractice and other social vices as these could send them away from the university, stressing that they were the lucky one’s from about two million students who sat the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations in Nigeria.
The matriculation produced a total of 567 full-time students from six colleges namely: Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW),College of Arts Social and Management Sciences (CASMAS) and College of Health Sciences (COHES).
Other Colleges are College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CONAS), College of Information and Communication Technology (CICOT) and College of Environmental Sciences (COES).
In the same vein,the university also matriculated 270 part-time students across its various programmes.
The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, ably represented by Head of Matriculation and Monitoring, Mrs Kafayat Ibiwoye, while congratulating the newly matriculated students, lauded Crescent University for complying with admission procedures.
