Adeleke: Osun declares 3-day mourning

Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has directed that a three-day mourning period be declared throughout the state, in honour of the state’s first elected Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, who passed on in the early hours of Sunday in an Osogbo hospital.

This is contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Office of the Governor, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon.

Okanlawon said, “The 3-day mourning period commences from today Monday, April 24, 2017.

“During the period of mourning, all flags are to fly half mast.,” the statement said.

Adeleke, fondly called Serubawon by his supporters, was first elected in 2011 as PDP Senator representing Osun West and on his second term as APC Senator till the hands of death stopped him Sunday morning.
