Lagos Labour Party holds town hall Friday

The Lagos State Chapter of the Labour Party (LP) is set to hold a town hall meeting on Friday 28th of March 2024.

This was revealed in a press statement made by the newly appointed State Publicity Secretary of the party, Barrister Adeoa Onikoyi, as sent to The DEFENDER on Thursday.

“The town hall meeting will be held at the new Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA Party Secretariat which will also be launched on that day,” the statement said.

According to Barrister Onikoyi, the town hall meeting is set to be “a very powerful one.”

He said that attendance is expected from all local governments in the state “as the Labour Party in Lagos State is set on a path of reconciliation and rebuilding.

“The event is also expected to be attended by the National Leadership of the Party, led by Barrister Julius Abure.

“Also in attendance on the day will be the National Secretary, Alh.Umar Farouk, the Deputy National Chairman Southwest, Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi, the Deputy National Secretary, Chief Kehinde Rotimi, the National Publicity Secretary, Comr. Obiorah Foh, as well as the National Youth Leader, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu.

“Significantly, on that day, the Labour Party wil be receiving a high profile decampee in the person of Hon. Francis Barthlomew Omowale Chima popularly known as “Omo Barca” as wel as thousands of his supporters.

“The Chief Host, Pst. Dr. Mrs. Dayo Ekong, the State Secretary, Chief Sam Okpala as well as elected members under the banner of the Labour Party wil be on ground to welcome the National Leadership to the state, as well as the decampees, to the party.

“The town hall event will be held at ABAYOMI HALL, 37 Cardoso Street, Awodi Ora, Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagosand start by 10AM,” said Onikoyi.

This global online newspaper reports that governorship candidate of the party in 2023, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, will be special guest at the event.
