ABUJA: People with disabilities seek peace in Kano, at solidarity rally for Gov Yusuf

*Insist, “We voted for Abba Kabir Yusuf, not Gawuna”

A group of people living with disabilities from Kano State has called on the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government to do whatever it can, in ensuring that Kano State is not destabilized.

This was disclosed in a statement by Sagir Ibrahim, Convener of the solidarity rally.

Together with other well-wishers, the people Thursday gathered at Karonmajigi community in Abuja, where they drew global attention to the need for restoration of peace in Nigeria’ssecond economic nerve centre, Kano.

Referring to the governorship election in the state, which outcome was being of litigations having witnessed attempt to upturn the will of the people in the state and leading to judgment scandals both at Tribunal and Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The case currently at the Supreme Court of Nigeria after the strange judgements were delivered at the lower and appellate courts.

To ensure correction of those wrongs as clearly exposed by the Appeal Court judgment Certified True Copy (CTC), the people with disabilities in Abuja
called on the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to save democracy and also save Kano State from a conflagration.

“We voted for Abba Kabir Yusuf, not Gawuna,” they stated, adding that, in spite of their physical challenges, they still travelled back home to vote for Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.

They said Governor Yusuf was so caring and passionate about Kano. During the distribution of items donated as palliatives, he specially set aside items for people living with disabilities.

Less than seven months in office, he has made tremendous improvements and progress in governance and for the state in general, they said.

They requested the Supreme Court to ensure that justice is dispensed without fear or favour in order to sustain the people’s confidence in the judiciary.

The people highlighted the impact Abba Yusuf’s administration has made in their lives since his assumption of office.

With a strong voice, they called on President Bola Tinubu not to disappoint the people of Kano.

One of them said, “We still believe in the judiciary; we are optimistic they will do justice to the case.”
