A LEGACY THAT ENDURES: HRH Princess Adebusola Abisoye Oluwatuyi’s lasting impact in Isolo Kingdom

Former Regent of Isolo Kingdom, HRH Princess Adebisola Abisoye Oluwatuyi is remembered today 21st August, 2025 marking her birthday anniversary. Excerpts:
Aswe reflect on the rich history and cultural heritage of Isolo Kingdom, one name stands out for her unwavering dedication, leadership, and vision: HRH Princess Adebusola Abisoye Oluwatuyi. As the Regent of Isolo Kingdom, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the community’s future, navigating complex challenges, and fostering growth.
Born as the first daughter on the throne to the late Kabiesi HRM Oba Kayode Oluwatuyi, the immediate Osolo of Isolo, Princess Adebusola Abisoye Oluwatuyi was destined for greatness. Despite not being the first daughter of the late king, her birthright positioned her for a significant role in the kingdom’s leadership.
Following the passing of her father on September 2, 2013, Princess Adebusola emerged as the Regent of Isolo Kingdom, thanks to the traditional rights of the community. This development was particularly notable given the circumstances, as her elder sister, Princess Olukemi, had initially considered pursuing the position but ultimately stepped aside due to her political ambitions.
One of the defining moments of HRH Princess Adebusola’s regency was her response to the lockdown of shops and marketplaces in Akure, following the demise of HRM Oba Adebiyi Adegboye Adesida Afunbiowo on November 30, 2013. When the Akure youth leaders attempted to enforce a similar lockdown in Isolo Community, the Regent took swift action, engaging with the group and explaining the cultural implications of their actions. Her leadership and diplomacy skills helped to diffuse the situation, preventing further escalation.
Under HRH Princess Adebusola’s regency, Isolo Kingdom has experienced significant growth and recognition. Previously, the community was relatively unknown outside of Ondo and Ekiti States. However, her efforts have elevated the kingdom’s status, attracting attention from other regions and royal families.
As we celebrate HRH Princess Adebusola Abisoye Oluwatuyi’s birthday, we honor her dedication, wisdom, and leadership.
