MD Abubakar, former IGP, pledges to collaborate with journalists over Zamfara Security Trust Fund

Chairman of the recently established Zamfara State Security Trust Fund and former Inspector General of Police, IGP Muhammad Dikko Abubakar (RTD), has pledged to collaborate with journalists in his effort to mobilise support for the success of his Fund’s assignment.
MD Abubakar disclosed this while speaking to journalists, shortly after taking over the secretariat of the trust fund from the state government in Gusau, the state capital, on Friday March 8, 2024.
He described journalists as are partners in fighting any form crime, adding that they have a vital role to play in achieving their fundamental objectives and, therefore, said his body would collaborate with them in its core mandate to mobilise resources to support all the security agencies in the state, for them to carry out their responsibilities effectively particularly in the areas of fight against banditry and other criminal activities.
Abubakar further said that the trust fund would also provide all the necessary weapons, logistics and any other support including welfare to families of the security agencies to boost their morale in the fight against criminal elements in the state.
He appealed to all Zamfara State indigenes, development partners, donor agencies, international organisation and well meaning individuals to donate generously to the funds as, according to the former police chief, no amount is too small or big as a date would be set aside for the official launching of the trust fund.
He reiterated the commitment of members of the trust fund to discharge their duties without fear or favour and commended Governor Dauda Lawal for establishing the trust fund to assist security agencies in fighting bandits in the state.
