Fagbemi calls Nigerians to support Tinubu

The Minister of Justice and Attornry-General of Federation, Hon. ‘Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has called for more support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his effort to reposition Nigeria for better future.

The Minister made the call at his home-town of Ijagbo, on Friday, during a special prayer session organised for him for Allah’s continued guidance and protection in his new official responsibilities.

In a press statement issued by the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria and signed by its National Coordinator, Malam Abdullahi Ibrahim, the group stated that the Minister spoke briefly on the destruction that had been done to the Nation’s economy in the past explaining that apart from stopping further destructions to the economy, President Tinubu is working hard to lay solid foundation for better economic future.

According to the new Minister, the President is working hard on all other aspects of human endeavour too so that the Nation could be transformed as quickly as practicable – stressing that his participation in several International Confabs and his meetings World Leaders has been on how to secure best ways to assist the Country. He therefore called for his support in his commendable efforts.

He appealed to all Nigerian Citizens to exercise a little more patience and enjoin them to pray hard for the new Administration to succeed – adding that things would soon change for the better.

He thanked the Kwara State Governor Mal AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for supporting his nomination as a Minister and promised the President and the Nation that he would not disappoint them. He also appealed for constant prayer from Religious Leaders so that Tinubu Administration could succeed.

In his own remarks at the ceremony, the Kwara State Governor who is also the Chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) Mal AbdulRahman Abdul-Razaq who was physically present at the occasion, admonished the Hon. Minister of Justice and the Nation’s Attorney, not to change his good character with which he is well- known adding that the Kwara State Government would remain solidly behind him.

Earlier in his Welcome Address, the Representative of Fagbemi Royal Family in Ijagbo – Prince Sulaiman Ayodele Tejumola Fagbemi, FCIA expressed the sincere appreciation of the Family to President Bola Tinubu and the Governor of Kwara State for the honour done to the Family, the People of Ijagbo and Kwara State at large on the Hon. Minister’s appointment.

Prince Sulaiman Fagbemi who is a retired Permanent Secretary from the Kwara State Public Service, urged admirers of Lawyer Lateef Fagbemi to remember him in their prayers always.

The Special Prayer Ceremony which was led by the Chief Imam of Offa Imam Sheikh Muhyideen Salman Hussain also featured a Lecture delivered by Ustaz Lukman Mukhtar Isale Koto.

Dignitaries present at the occasion include the National Assembly Members led by Senator Saliu Mustapha, Senator Sadik Umar, Senator Lola Ashiru and Hon. Abdul-Rahim Tunji Olawuyi – Member of House of Representatives.

Others at the occasion were the Chief Judge of Kwara State – Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara, Hon. Justice T.S. Umar, Hon. Justice Mahmud Abdul-Gafar all of Kwara State High Court of Justice and Founder of Al-Hikmah University Ilorin and Jagunmolu of Igbominaland – Chief Dr. Abdul-Rahim Oladimeji as well as Professor Abdul-Lateef Oladimeji a Former DVC of Al-Hikmah University.

Several Senior Advocates of Nigeria – SANs that were there include the Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Muslim Media Watch Group Lawyer Yusuf Olaolu Ali, Lawyer Minkail Niyi Akintola from Ibadan, Lawyer Kehinde Eleja, Lawyer Abdul-Mumin Jimoh – Former DPP in Kwara State among many others.

The Oloffa of Offa – Oba Muftau Gbadamosi, Olupo of Ajassepo and Onijagbo of Ijagbo led other Royal Fathers from Irepodun, Oyun and Offa Local Governments to the great occasion which would remain ‘A talk of the Town’ for a long time to come.
