Digital and Social Media Aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, made this known via her Facebook page on Monday.

The DEFENDER investigations further revealed that Onochie’s statement is verifiable with some of what can best be described as achievements of the Nigerian Navy and, by extension, the defence generally in the waters security area.

She said, “Thanks to what now amounts to one of the most sophisticated maritime surveillance security architecture in the world, there was not a single recorded piracy attack in Nigeria’s territorial waters for the first time in 30 years in the first quarter of 2022,” Lauretta gave kudos with a sound of “God bless Nigeria!”
