Ogun Security: Police arrests 11 cultists

The Police in the Ogun State, at the weekend, arrested 11 members of the notorious cult group said to have been terrorizing Ijeja in Agbado area of the state.

This was disclosed by a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER.

The suspects, who were rounded up in their hideout where they were planning to launch attack, the statement said, included “Abayomi Agbefolaju m’ 25yrs, “Alaba Ayoade m’ 17yrs, Olamide Abdul Rasheed m’ 21yrs, Hakeem Ayoola m’ 21yrs, Olaoye Gbolahan m’ 21yrs, Adebayo  Julius m’ 21yrs, Taiwo Sodiq m’ 22yrs, Teniola Imoleayo m’ 22yrs, Adesina Aminat  f’ 20yrs, Seun Odemuyiwa f’ 18yrs and Kehinde Adunoye f’ 18yrs.”

The state command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), said in the statement that one UTC axe, one UTC cutlass, some blue berets ,charms and other dangerous weapons were recovered from the criminals.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspects be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution. He therefore warned that the state will never be conducive for anybody, who wants to hide under any cult group to wreck havoc on innocent citizens of the state,” the statement said.
