SUMMIT: President Buhari departs Riyadh for Madinah, prays for everlasting peace in Nigeria

After the Future Investment Initiative Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, held on Tuesday 26 October, 2021, President Muhammadu Buhari, departed the kingdom’s capital on siyarah, a religious visit to the Holy Mosque of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in Madinah, on Wednesday 27 October.
The Nigerian Leader, accompanied by members of his delegation, was received by Deputy Governor Saud bin Khalid Al Faisal at the Prince Muhammad Abdulaziz International Airport, Madinah, from where his convoy drove to Haram Madinah, the Holy Mosque, where he offered prayers for Nigeria right inside Raodah, in the home and resting place of Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
In an official statement issued by Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Madinah was said to be a stopover as he continued his visit in Saudi Arabia.
According to the statement sent to The DEFENDER, he observed his evening prayers and engaged in intense prayers, along with his entourage for the return of peace and security all over Nigeria and the world at large.
The President was said to have spent quality time at the Mosque of the Holy Prophet Muhammed, Islam’s second holiest worship centre engaging in prayers and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
President Buhari and the delegation prayed for the well-being of the nation and its people and for the full restoration of peace and security in Nigerian and around the globe. Prayers for the economy, ravaged by the pandemic to fully recover for the benefit of the nation and its people were also offered.
The President will later on in the evening proceed to Makkah for the performance of the Umrah (lesser Hajj).
The DEFENDER reports that any supplication made in Raodah is automatically accepted by Allah, while obligatory prayer done anywhere in the over 18-acre wide Holy Mosque earns the worshiper 1,000 rewards as against 27 rewards outside the place except Haram Makkah, where such obligatory prayer earns worshiper 100,000 rewards.
