President Buhari arrives Makkah for Umrah

President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, who had a stopover Wednesday 27 October, 2021 in Madinah after departing Riyadh, capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and place of Future Investment Initiative Summit, finally arrived at the Holy City of Makkah in the early hours of Thursday, 28 October, for Umrah, the Lesser Hajj.

The President, who arrived via King AbdulAzeez International Airport, Jeddah, clad in his Harami, the white pilgrim’s wear, has since proceeded to Haram, where he is expected to perform Tawaf, the circumambulation of the Holy Ka’abah seven times, drink zamzam water and then proceed to Sai, for the Safa and Marwa runs and again pray extensively for Nigeria.

Doing these, The DEFENDER reports, make up Umrah, which is started and completed under three to five hours.

According to a presidential statement, earlier before leaving Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari is expected back in Nigeria on Friday, 29 October, 2019.
