President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit on Thursday 9 September, 2021 to the South Eastern state of Imo has been described as a visionary mission that is commendable by all standards.
Making this commendation in a statement on Saturday was the Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly Worldwide which “congratulates the President on the successful state visit coming to Igbo Land, precisely showing the love for unity and strength of the people.”
According to the statement, signed by its Director General, Strategic Planning and Implementations, Amb. Tony Chiemelu Obizoba, the Igbo socio-cultural organisation Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the President had done well with the visit it believes carries a lot of messages of hope for the South East especially in terms of security improvement and economic stability.
“President Buhari has done well with the visit, which provided him the much deserved opportunity to meet with leaders of the region, and his promise that he made is one that gives hope that we are moving to the right direction.
“He has already said in his speech – during the visit – that he would use his capacity as President to make sure that security, peace and economic stability is improved within the South Eastern states.
“We need to be appreciative of that fact and then salute Mr. President for his tolerance and also encourage him to continue to do his good work, while we urge our people of the region to continue to work with the rest of the country for their own good and the general good of all,” Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly Worldwide said in the Obizoba’s statement.
The DEFENDER reports that President Buhari paid a remarkable visit to Imo State on Thursday during which he met with political and traditional leaders among other Igbo stakeholders of the South East region and commissioned projects built by government of the state.
