Ogun Police arrests man, 35, for defiling his wife’s 13-year old sister
The Ogun State Police Command has announced its arrest of one Kingsley Chigbo for defiling his wife’s 13 years old younger sister.
The announcement was contained in a statement by the state Police Public Relations of Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi.
According to him, the incident was reported to the police at Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters by one Peju Osoba, a female, who is the Coordinator of an Abeokuta based Child Protection Network.
Osoba reported that one of her staffs in Ota who went for an enlightenment talk with students of Bannis College Ijoko, headquarters of Sango-Ijoko Local Council Development Area of the state, gave her the information.
“After the enlightenment talk, the little girl called the said staff to a corner and confessed to her that her elder sister’s husband has been having sex with her under duress with threat that he will kill her if she ever tells anybody. Upon the report, the DPO Sango SP Akinsola Ogunwale led detectives to the house of the suspect at No 38 Asikolaye Street, Gasline, Ijoko, where the suspect was promptly arrested. When confronted by the girl, he admitted committing the crime,” the police statement said.
In the meantime, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Iliyasu, according to the statement, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti human trafficking and child labour section of state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation.
