Why you should be patient with government, Ribadu tells Biafra agitators
Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has called on those clamoring for Biafra republic to be patient with government over their myriad of challenges, describing them as temporal.
He said their agitation though justifiable, cannot be achieved through violence but through the instrumentality of unity and togetherness.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka on the sideline of the 11th Convocation ceremony of Nnamdi Azikiwe University where he delivered a lecture, Ribadu said the alleged injustices being meted on them are not peculiar to the South-east, adding that no part of the country is immune from one challenge or another.
“I believe this country has a future and if we stay together it will be better for all of us. All of us have our problems and challenges, including me.
“There may be issues of injustices here and there, but that does not necessarily call for the destruction of my own country. Let’s stay together and persevere, let us endure, collectively we can surmount the challenges one day.
“Those things we are going through today are not going to be permanent. I want the people to understand that the challenges we are going through are just temporal.
