#NigeriaNotAFailedState: Buhari’s good example of how not to be ‘Shakabula’ politician, a compilation from Abatam Nwosun’s brain work

And Baba is not a Shakabula Politicial Leader!
As you can see, that journey of winning the presidency in 2015 actually started as far back as 2003!
Political Aspirations:
In 2003 Buhari ran for president and was defeated by the incumbent, Olusegun Obasanjo of the (PDP). Buhari ran again in 2007 but was defeated by the PDP’s candidate, Umaru Yar’Adua, in an election that was strongly criticized by international observers as being marred by voting irregularities. Buhari also stood in the 2011 presidential election, which was praised for largely being transparent, free, and fair, but he again lost to the PDP’s candidate, incumbent Goodluck Jonathan.
In 2014 the All Progressives Congress (APC) party nominated Buhari to stand as its candidate in the 2015 presidential election. His reputation for being incorruptible and his military background made him an attractive candidate, whom many Nigerians hoped might be able to more effectively handle the threat posed by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram, whose violent acts had terrorized parts of the country in recent years.
The March 28 presidential election had 14 candidates, although the real contest was seen as being between Buhari and Jonathan, who was again the PDP’s candidate. In what was Nigeria’s most closely fought election ever, Buhari garnered the most votes—some 2.5 million more than Jonathan, his closest competitor—and was declared the winner. His win marked the first time that the incumbent president had been defeated in Nigeria. Buhari was inaugurated on May 29, 2015.

Nigerian military tin shield air defence radar.
Nigerian military has historically been very frugal in revealing information as regards arms purchases and operational structure, so it may surprise many that this radar has been in service with the military for over a decade.
Tin Shield mobile radar system can detect and classify air targets (friend or foe). It is optimised for detecting both low and high altitude target. Being a wheeled based system means it is mobile. The Radar System has multiple independent power station.
The system also feature a jammimg resistant pods under active and passive jamming conditions for its radar guided projectiles. The radar has a detection range of nearly 350 km (220 mi.) and operates in the E/F radio-bands (2-4GHz).
This may not particularly be the most advanced Radar System in its class, however it is best suited for Nigeria given its perculiar power challlenges. It has 3 Independent power generators and two auxilliary power units for its antenna’s.
Main component includes a
Main radar
Control vehicle
Mobile generator
Support vehicle
Radar
It has a detection range of 350 km. They are mostly deployed around Nigerian Air Force bases.
