Twist of fate as Fayose calls Buhari listening President over Onnoghen

Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for sending the name of Justice Walter Onnoghen to the Senate for confirmation as Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Fayose, an ardent critic of Buhari, said the action would facilitate Onnoghen’s confirmation and showed that the President was a listening person.

Fayose, who is the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor’s Forum, hailed the President for not allowing the judicial institution to be “further bastardised and cowed by the executive arm.”

Speaking on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti, he said Buhari deserved commendation though it was the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo that sent the name to the Senate.
