Giadom writes INEC as APC Acting National Chairman
*Electoral body receives letter
Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has written a letter of notification to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the latest development in the party.
In the letter dated June 18, 2020 with reference APC/NHDQ/INEC/020/14 and addressed to the INEC Chairman, Chief Victor Giadom said he was bringing to the attention of the electoral umpire that he had been appointed as Acting National Chairman of the APC.
“Please note that the earlier Order of the FCT High Court, suspending Comrade Adams Oshiomhole from office on March 4th, 2020 was affirmed by the Court of Appeal, Abuja on June 16th, 2020.
“Mr. Oshiomhole’s appeals were dismissed in that date. Copies of the orders of the Court in the two cases are herewith attached for your perusal,” he said.
Chief Giadom said, “As the Acting National Chairman of the party, all processes, documents and communications including those concerning the conduct of elections meant for the APC are to be served on me.”
In the meantime, the INEC has already received with an acknowledgement, the letter from Chief Victor Giadom as the New Actng National Chairman of the APC thereby officially ending the era of Oshiomhole’s leadership as hitherto recognised by the body.
