Nigeria’s Coronavirus cases hit 25, as NCDC confirms 3 new cases in Lagos
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that it has recorded three new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Lagos State.
The NCDC, Sunday morning, made this known via its Twitter handle, where it added that two cases have been discharged and that there has been no death from COVID-19 in Nigeria.
“On the 22nd of March 2020, three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria. Till date, twenty-five (25) cases have been confirmed, two cases have been discharged and there has been no death from COVID-19 in Nigeria.
“All three new cases are in Lagos State. They are being treated at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba,” it said.
What the Centre did not say however was whether the new cases were new entrants into the country or not.
The DEFENDER reported earlier that the Federal Government had finally issued a ban on international flights to any part of Nigeria with its new order shutting down the last two international airports namely, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, which it kept for same purpose after the closure of three others towards the end of last week.
In the meantime, Nigeria has been commended for its proactive measures which has brought to the notice of the world pitching particularly the Western world to the surprise, asking questions why Africa has been less hit.
