Day Tambuwal became PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman
During the week, Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Mutawallen Sokoto, emerged the new Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum.
The DEFENDER gathered that emergence of the adjudged most humble Nigerian governor was as a result of a unanimous appointment by the PDP governors while in their 88th National Executive Council meeting.
By the latest development, Tambuwal now replaced outgoing Governor of Bayelsa State, Honourable Seriake Dickson, who was absent at the meeting and whose tenure will elapse tomorrow Monday that is February 3, 2020.
Many have hailed the Sokoto State governor, who, like his Kano State counterpart, appears to have finally retired his predecessor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, as Garrison Commander of Sokoto State politics with his four-level victory against the former governor and his All Progressives Congress (APC).
It will be recalled that Tambuwal had a narrow but tough win in the April 2019 governorship election that peaked in a supplementary process.
The second level of the victory was when he defeated his opponent Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu at the governorship election petition tribunal then at Court of Appeal and finally at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
