4 NTIC best graduating students get full scholarship
Also at the event, outstanding students bagged scholarship awards among who were Kolapo Fuad, the best graduating Arts student, male category; and Abdullahi Shehu, best graduating Science student, male category.
Others are Azizat Lawanson, the best graduating Arts student, female category; and Rekiya Tijani, the best graduating Science student, female category.
In his address at the event, Mr Ercarn Yilmaz, the College Principal, said 66 students graduated in the set.
He said that the four best students were offered scholarship to the college’s sister higher institution to celebrate and encourage hard work and excellence.
Yilmaz said the graduands were more than adequate to face rigours of higher studies anywhere in the world.
He said they had been equipped with good academic performance, good character and self discipline.
“If they stay focused on their goal, meditate from time to time on various admonitions offered to them and do not stray from the path the school and home has set for them, in a couple of years they will become role models and celebrate success, God willing,” he said.
The principal told the students that the doors of the school administrators were still open for them anytime they needed assistance.
He urged them not to hesitate to avail themselves the opportunity.
Yilmaz lauded parents and other stakeholders for the contribution and support to ensure the school’s success story.
Rev. Mark Oladejo, Senior Pastor, The Lord’s Portion Restorers Church, urged the parents and guardians to expose their children to different kinds of training in their different capacities.
He said that such training was essential to their success in life.
Oladejo listed the six training classrooms parents should expose their children.
These, he said, are home training classroom, house training classroom, classroom training itself, experiential classroom, religious classroom and the societal classroom.
He told the parents and guardians that the type of home they build may enhance or deter the success of their children in life.
“The type of home that can mar a child’s future is a home that is divided against itself, where the past rule over the present, where parents feel too big or old to be corrected and where there is no balance teaching between inferiority and self esteem.
“The type of home that can aid a child’s success is a home where love is true and sincere, home for good imitation, home built around religious belief and a home that teaches that there is time for everything under the sun,” he said.
The cleric urged the graduands to develop an extra spirit, face their fears with faith, purpose in their minds to succeed, and not to waste their time on less productive things.
According to him, the graduating students must also explore their talents and grab available and usable opportunities, as these are the keys for outstanding success in life.
