Voters Registration: Ondo declares Thursday work free day
The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has declared Thursday August 30, 2018 as work-free day in the state.
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Yemi Olowolabi, stated this in a release on Wednesday.
This decision, according to the Commissioner, followed a resolution of the State Executive Council which stated that a work free day be observed in the state to allow public servants participate in the continuous voters registration exercise which closes on Friday, August 31, 2018.
“The Governor, therefore, calls on the people of the state to take full advantage to this opportunity to register and obtain their permanent voters cards, PVC, which will enable them cast their votes in the forthcoming General Election in Nigeria,” the statement said.
He added that workers in the state were expected back at work on Friday, August 31, 2018.
