*Says PDP lawmakers drinking whisky amidst cries of security siege
*As Nigerians call for action against plotters
*Say sack of Daura not enough but a means further revelations
*”Opposition collaborating with security agency peak of rebellion”
“There were photos of the PDP lawmakers, about 30 of them – a mixture of senators and reps – where they sat down at the lobby, drinking whiskey. “I was asked to go and find out what was happening at the national assembly. I got there at about 11am and I found about 25 or 30 lawmakers of the PDP sitting down at the lobby and I didn’t see anything (regarding the rumoured impeachment plot).”
More facts keep emerging confirming allegations against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its lawmakers as responsible for the security siege on the National Assembly, which on Tuesday drew the attention not only watchers in Nigeria but abroad.
Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, gave accounts of what he saw when he asked to go to the legislative complex and find out what was happening there following the hues that a particularly broadcasting media, Channels Television made of it.
He said, while he did not sight any lawmaker of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the complex, he however saw that the mixture of PDP lawmakers he saw were celebrating while what they were peddling via Channels Television as “DSS Siege” was ongoing.
The lawmakers were said to be enjoying themselves while other Nigerians expressed worries about the lockdown.
Ojudu said there was therefore no sign of attempt by APC to impeach Saraki as claimed by the opposition lawmakers, who more glaringly happened to be script writers and actors of the whole scenario.
Ojudu spoke just as the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, expressed her misgivings concerning the development where the PDP and its legislative members tried to give the Buhari’s government bad name at all cost but the smartness of the Acting President in consultation with his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, who is supposed to be resting by his 10-day annual vacation in London, United Kingdom.
More exposing of PDP is when based on the “pure stagemanaged legislative coup” by itself, National Chairman of the opposition, Uche Secondus reportedly called on the authorities of the United Kingdom to eject President Buhari from their country with immediate effect thereby painting picture of an unserious, shameless, desperate and very highly unpatriotic opposition politicking going on Nigeria by a people bent on returning “to continue their corruption, impunity and lack of concern for the welfare of the masses and development of the country”, Wale Ogunyemi speaking for some concerned citizens said in Lagos on Tuesday.
Apparently disgusted by the unfolding facts, the presidential social media aide, Onochie, on her Twitter handle, demanded that a section of the media that helped the PDP hyped the fake news about APC government plotting to truncate democracy must apologise to Nigerians.
She said, “The section of the media who were part of the plot by the PDP & some security agents to stage a Drama at the NASS yesterday, should apologise to Nigerians. “It has now emerged that while @benmurraybruce played d Publicity Secretary, his friends were drinking whisky INSIDE the NASS.”
Moreover, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, airing his views about the activities of the PDP lawmakers in the NASS building, said: “There were photos of the PDP lawmakers, about 30 of them – a mixture of senators and reps – where they sat down at the lobby, drinking whiskey. “I was asked to go and find out what was happening at the national assembly. I got there at about 11am and I found about 25 or 30 lawmakers of the PDP sitting down at the lobby and I didn’t see anything (regarding the rumoured impeachment plot).
“When this was happening, they were on their normal caucus meeting. No single member of the APC was at the premises of the national assembly.“
The PDP lawmakers were found drinking alcohol at the NASS lobby while the Department of State Services operatives barricaded the entry gate of the complex, Ojudu reportedly said reiterating that there was no single All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker found in the complex.
Some PDP lawmakers of the House of Representatives were on Tuesday, August 7, seen in the National Assembly (NASS) building having a nice time amidst the siege round the complex carried out by armed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
In the meantime, calls have gone to the government to as a matter of urgency institute a panel of inquiry, which should investigate to unravel all issues surrounding the sad event now more pointedly rested on the side of personal interest of Senate President Bukola Saraki and ensure that Police without delay arrest all that are involved no their status, party or gender.
One of them, Mr. Ogunyemi, said, “For the opposition to have gone to the extent of conspiring with security agency as sensitive as SSS means that they have cross the red line and must be serious clamped down upon, failure to do, which may cause the Buhari-led APC government some kind of resentment from the people, who are now very angered by the development that we all know was by CorruptionStillFightingBack agents led by Saraki,” he said.
The APC National Secretariat had Wednesday announced result of its investigation at the ruling party level saying the scenario was that Bukola Saraki actually only hatched his plot to foment violence as he was said to have mobilised thugs to the Assembly complex.
The APC however said but the intervention of security forces, the Saraki action would have led to loss of lives and destruction of properties.
